Katie & David, 12/05 – Wiston House, Steyning, West Sussex Wedding Photographer
Wiston House, what can I say. It has been a while since I was here last but it was great to be back. The first bit of sunshine since 2011 that I have covered a wedding in so I was quite excited. Blue skies and puffy white cloud. Apart from the shock of having to deal with shadows again and people sheltering from the sun it was all good.
Katie and David were great fun to photograph, very easy and natural. The venue helps also with so many photo opportunities and the first dance I absolutely love. Remote strobes keeps it dark considering it was still light outside but also create some amazing wide angles in the great hall room.
The staff at Wiston looked after me wonderfully well, I can’t remember the last time I received my 3 course meal that often the bride and groom pay for (usually get the most overcooked or fattiest main course going, which is fair enough I suppose) so it was a great surprise to have some great food and plenty of it. Needless to say it gives me more energy to stay longer and stay on top of my game. Wedding photography is very very tiring, physical and mentally it is exhausting so great to be re-fueled.
