The great weather continued for Ellie & Andrew and the new room at Ockenden Manor with doors open to the garden made the scene for the ceremony fantastic. It was a nice relaxed wedding with guest milling around in Ockenden’s fantastic gardens.

It was great to be at Fitzleroi without rain, in fact it was blooming and quite glorious with the lovely four gents providing some great live music!
The father at St.Mary’s had some ideas about photos which although sound good in principal I think he needs to understand lighting first and then he would think again!
Lizzie & James were great and by the end of the afternoon I think James really quite liked having his picture taken

I love Lizzie's look in this one - very happy with how she looks and with good reason!

This was not setup, but I really like it....never usually happens!

For some reason I really like this shot, even though the focus points are the back of Lizzie & James's heads it has a certain mood about it.

This field was a dream, we didn't squash any wheat if the farmer is watching!

My hayfever went mad about 10 minutes later though

When a girl's gotta eat

Nothing great about this shot but it was just to show 6ft 7 vs 6ft 10!

It really is quite a special view!

Ockenden Manor Hotel has undergone some building works that have transformed the venue. Rather than a conservatory on the back of the building it is now a light and airy extension with glass roof. It becomes a much larger room for both ceremonies and also the wedding breakfast.
Claire and Andrew seemed to enjoy the new room, and from my point of view as a photographer I (Angela) enjoyed the light during the ceremony. The weather compared from the day before was fantastic. Blue sky, sunshine and puffy white clouds at Ockenden!
Claire & Andrew – 30th May 2010, Ockenden Manor Hotel.

Claire is very photogenic!

Bags of light at Ockenden

Great sky

An interesting shot, I tried some variety. Not sure if it works or not?!

Yum!

A great venue in Arundel Town Hall meant that the wet weather had little impact on the day. It is a great room for both ceremony and post ceremony drinks!
It was also great to see Sarah and Olly plus many guests that I saw at the wedding I was a guest at the previous week at Ham Manor Golf Club.
Tamsyn & Gavin, Arundel Town Hall – 29th May 2010

A spectacular room...

Gavin all ready for action

Perfect for a caption competition

The rolling pin, what a great family tradition!

The proof it was raining

In black and white this could be 30 years ago with the Southdown Vintage Bus, so why is it in colour?!

We had a touch of rain but it bothered n0-one! Sarah & Mark didn’t seem at all bothered by the rain which from my point of view is very important. I had happy people to shoot whatever the weather!
One handed shooting with an umbrella in the other, keeps myself and the equipment dry but on Sunday my arm was in bits
Sarah & Mark, 29th May 2010 – Ockended Manor Hotel, Cuckfield

The fizz is opened!

Happy Birthday to you....

The rain is coming down...

Cute

The vicar was probably the funniest I have ever seen. A few classic wedding gags that I have heard during Best Man speeches but they were funny when told by a vicar, must be the surprise element!

One of my favourites from the day, there is something about Mark's look!

aye aye captain

The dancing was most unexpected, Sarah was good but Mark was a star

Wow, what a wedding! Some great outfits, hairdo’s and characters all on show. It was an excellent wedding and I thoroughly enjoyed taking the wedding pics! Rosie & Tom both looked fantastic and neither stopped smiling all day!
Rosie & Tom – 30th May 2010, Upwaltham Barns, West Sussex

I enjoyed the wedding but I have to be honest I am not sure what is going on here, I am guessing this is a band playing rock move....?!

Rosie looked amazing!

The black and red worked so well

Is Tom winking?

I missed what Tom did but makes an interesting photo...

Nicola at Upwaltham has the gardens looking fantastic, full of colour!

Great effect with the theme carried over to the tables

The fantastic April weather started a few days before Serena & Damian’s big day and it was hard to believe that it would last to the Saturday! It did and the day was a great success, brass band outside in April, sunshine and blue skies what more can be asked for a West Sussex Wedding!
10th April 2010, Tudor Close, Ferring

How exciting hats are back!

5 days before it felt about minus 2!

P r o u d !

Happy faces the important part is all done

Upwaltham Barns, West Sussex
Saturday 13th Feb 2010
Escaped the snow and rain (although we didn’t tell Grainne that it was snowing while she was getting ready), it was a little chilly but everyone enjoyed the day and were in good spirits even outside!
The two boys of the day ran me ragged, they have so much energy!!

Couple of smart boys!

Arundel Town Hall & The White Swan, Arundel.
February 6th 2010
Considering the previous 3 months of weather it was hard to imagine guests would be able to stand without shivering or getting wet on the fantastic roof terrace at Arundel Town Hall. It was ‘mild’ if I say so myself! Deep blue sky and some tricky low sun gave us some interesting lighting and final results which I hope Debbie & Olly will be happy with. Huge pressure what with the number of potential grooms that visit Olly’s business each week

Debbie was very relaxed!

Something interesting about this shot...

Where is Olly when you need him

'The boys'

The socks get visible

Blimin hayfever in February!

Such a fine room to get married in

Bubbles!

Only another 28 to go...

No I have not doctored the sky, it really was this blue!

Picture postcard time

Is it a shame about the grotty no entry sign, or does it add something?

A classic 'motor'

19th December 2009, 3.30pm
A crisp clear day in December! 36 hours after the main snow came down the streets around the church in Cuckfield and the path leading to the church door were like an icerink! All guests made it safely and most important Hannah the bride made it with ease (and the use of some wellies
)
A late start time of 3.30pm means from a photography point of view it is tricky but we were pleased with the results hope you think the same!

The sign said 'caution slippery path' - it was!

The wellies...

The headlights make this shot our favourite.

A proud mum.

And another...

This was a challenge but pretty good considering the size of the room, the balancing on a chair and wood panelling

Shelley & James, 12th December 2009
It was a crisp day, but considering the 2.30pm time of the ceremony it was great weather and we managed to make the most of the daylight and even had some soft warming sun on Shelley & James. A very relaxed affair it was a real pleasure to cover the day!

Farbridge Looking great in December!

Car park getting ready shots

A sneaky peak at the waiting crowd

Here goes...

A proud sis

Shelley looks amazing!

The two dads

We managed to sneak the last bit of sun before it hid behind some cloud

I am sure this is a stock shot at Farbridge but needed to be done

Standing on a bar stool in a gravel car park - dedication or stupidity but great shot either way!

I think James did this not Dad!

Upwaltham Barns,
5th September 2009
Sara & Peter didn’t stop kissing!! They looked like they were having the time of their lives. It was good to see our good friends Nicola, Andy and their boy Jack who was two on the day!

Birthday boy...

A wedding needs some tears

Often it is the bride that is picked up, mmm?

We had a giggle taking the pics

In numerous weddings we have covered at Upwaltham we have always resisted the rustic corrogated storage barn, Sara & Pete are privileged

What a finish!

Mannings Heath Golf Club, West Sussex
15th August 2009
Joanna & Mark had amazing weather, perfect for a golf club and the delightful views! The golf buggy was used on the day, and we apologise for the odd cheesy shot. I am not sure whatever possessed me to make them hang off the side of the buggy but I think it works

Mum was fighting back the tears

The weather made it all possible!

A scorcher of a day and another great wedding at Upwaltham Barns! Emma & Matt didn’t stop smiling all day. I really enjoyed the fun atmosphere in the courtyard at Upwaltham.

A lovely dress, that is a man commenting on this so it must be nice!

If you kissed this cute bridesmaid you needed ghostbusters to remove the gloss

The boys...

More laughter

Fighting the tears

Bro poised with the rings

Steady...

I had to put this on, a lovely previous Hector Photo Bride & Groom, the reason why we were here

Was that ok?

Upwaltham Barns, West Sussex
8th August 2009
Finally some proper summer weather. A fine day and from a photographic point of view some lovely high cloud to stop all those harsh shadows. Upwaltham Barns was looking fine as always. Nicky & Paul were so relaxed it was a real pleasure to take their wedding photos. I loved their theme for the wedding which included many items that invoked memories from their childhood. Lots of sweets, table football and even an ice-cream van served deserts (I was gone by then which was a shame from a photographic point of view, as well as a ice-cream point of view – I did pinch some sweets though but don’t tell Nicky & Paul!)

The cool camper

Nicky sneaking a peak

She's up their grandad

Paul gesturing for someone to take his place...

A proud sis

Table football was a hit - well with the lads

Upwaltham's 'love seat' usually sinks into the ground which causes a few giggles

Never seen this before, a great idea and so well made would not have been out of place on Brighton Pier

More tears

Some of those sweets I was talking about

Jeremy’s Restaurant, Borde Hill Gardens
11th July 2009
A wet day! It looked as though we might be lucky before the ceremony but we managed to do some couple shots in the rain and even managed the group shots in the church doorway. Elisa & John had a great day despite the weather and didn’t stop smiling all day!

Thank goodness for wide angle lenses, it was a small getting ready room!

A very proud dad

Cute, good idea the white rain jacket

Now look here Best Man, about your speech....

John in French mode

I didn't see that much of the dancing but I got the impression that Elisa would be dancing the rest of the night

South Lodge Hotel
28th June 2009
This venue deserves sunshine to enjoy that great terrace. It wasn’t always sunshine and there was no blue sky to be had but it was dry and all the guests were able to enjoy the views.

Serafina looked mighty fine!

Her boys were so proud

Gary was nervous, seeing Serafina helped those nerves a lot

Can't beat a bit of long grass in wedding photos!
